Niantic Inc., the studio behind the successful augmented reality game “Pokémon Go”, is working on a new project. A magical one. Together with Warner. Bros Interactive Entertainment they’re bringing “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite”. The game will be released under a newly created label Portkey Games.
Similarly to “Pokémon Go”, “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” will connect two realities, basically allowing the players to see the world through magical glasses. The details of gameplay are still unknown as of now, but it will involve searching magical creatures, casting spells and discovering mysterious artefacts.
Per Pottermore, the President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, David Haddad, says:
With this game, we are allowing the passionate, worldwide fan base to explore J.K. Rowling’s deeply powerful and imaginative universe in a new, truly immersive way. It is wonderful to have Niantic’s remarkable augmented reality expertise as we develop this incredibly rich wizarding world for players to explore in their everyday lives.
We sure are very excited and can’t wait for the game’s release. How about you?
